Home Studio Workshops

1) Painting for Peace Open Studio & Potluck

This small group series is intended to be an opportunity to come together and enjoy the process of watercolor painting and art making in a safe, peaceful environment. These sessions are free but registration is required. All guests are asked to bring a dish to share.

3) Book a Private Class or Party:

Learn a select composition or enhance you current skillset in a one-on-one or small group settings. 

Select dates are open in through 2026 for Private Classes and Parties. Individual Rates start at $125 per person for a 2.5 hour session, or $85 per person for groups of 6 or more. Travel and supply fees may also apply.

Community Workshops

The Norumbega, Camden, Maine

Guests at the Norumbega can join a complimentary open studio session on select Saturday afternoons in the Winter of 2026. Join Kristin as she demonstrates watercolor techniques and shows you how to create a composition inspired by the architecture and grounds of this award winning, Michelin-key rated Inn.

The Museums at Old York

Celebrate the 250th Anniversary of our Nation's Founding in these unique, Americana-focused watercolor workshops. We will explore traditional colorways, folklore, and the multicultural art traditions that make up our history. Suitable for all levels. Ages 12+ and Adults.

The Waterford Inne

May 2026 - Details Coming Soon for the Spring! Kristin F. Simmons Watercolor will partner with The Woods Maine for a relaxing afternoon of painting in the beautiful Barn at the Waterford Inne Farm. 


 

The Island Heritage Trust

May 14-18, 2026 ~ Join the wonderful team at IHT on Deer Isle in Downeast Maine for an afternoon of Watercolor Birds. This event is part of the "Wings Waves, and Woods" Annual Event. Kristin will teach a start-to-finish composition of one of Maine's beloved bird species. Suitable for all levels.

Woodlawn / The Black House ~ Ellsworth, Maine

December 12, 2026 ~ Join us in Ellsworth for a very special watercolor session at the Historic Woodlawn Estate. 

Make it a weekend Downeast, and enjoy the "Home for the Holidays" events on Deer Isle, including the "Winter Wonderland" show on 12/13/2026 at Aragosta. Kristin F. Simmons and select craftspeople will be part of an art show and sale from 11-3pm.

Join Kristin and her family for a 4-night watercolor cruise aboard the historic schooner Angelique, exploring the enchanting islands of Penobscot Bay. All levels are welcome to participate in daily watercolor lessons—Kristin F. Simmons leads  instruction (all materials included) to help you capture the beauty of Maine’s coast.

Beyond the lessons, there’s plenty of time to rest, read, swim, sail, and soak in the ever-changing sea views.

Departing from Camden, Maine—accessible by car, bus (from Boston or Portland), or flights into Portland or Bangor, with free parking available—you’ll embark on an unscripted, intimate sailing adventure.

Aboard the Angelique, relax and rejuvenate amidst great ocean views, quiet serenity, and excellent food. Enjoy family-style gourmet comfort meals—from homemade breads, roasts, fresh seafood, soups, and salads, to an unforgettable lobster bake ashore on an uninhabited island, complete with s’mores and desserts.
